Rumble Volume 2!!!

Hey guys, I wanted to do something different for this update on the site. I wanted to talk about a comic book which has been a huge inspiration and is one the best comics out there. The book which I'm talking about is Rumble, published by image comics. It is by co-creators John Arcudi and James Harren, which James does the interiors(pencils and inks). The reason why I'm bringing this comic up is because I want to share some of the things which inspire me and keep me drawing and creating. I'll try to do this every other week.

If you haven't read Rumble, here's a small description that I got from issue 1 on Comixology, so you know what to expect.

"Okay, so a scarecrow walks into a bar...and proceeds to wreak havoc across two worlds! After a long absence, Rathraq, Scarecrow Warrior God, is back-and very unhappy. Bad news for his old enemies, yes, but worse news for everybody else! JOHN ARCUDI and JAMES HARREN bring you a modern day action/adventure fantasy thriller where rundown dive bars, undead kitty cats, psycho skinheads, and giant mummies all play a part. It's Louis C.K. meets Robert E. Howard in a David Fincher universe."

This series is freaking amazing! It has spectacular fighting scenes and intense moments which are masterfully done by James Harren, and enhanced even further by Dave Stewart's  ridonkulously sweet colors. The dialog... sweet Jesus the DIALOG!!! I love how much life John Arcudi breathes into these characters. I feel like I'm literally next to the characters hearing them have a conversation, he makes it seem so natural. What helps this illusion really work is the magic Chris Eliopoulos casts unto his letters! The way he letters this book, helps the story and emotions flow super smooth. They say a great letterer does not bring any attention to the letters, so the reader can really engulf all their attention on the story. Of course since I have studied Rumble to help my craft, that's why I'm able to notice it. This team, is one of the greatest teams to ever work together in comics and I'm glad I'm able to witness it. If you have not read it yet, GOOD NEWS! Volume one is available on Comixology and at the moment they have it for 8 bucks! which is a steal. Issue 1 is actually free too! Even, I'm telling you now... just get the first Volume, you're going to do it anyways.

Another bit of great news... Volume 2 will be available on February 24th!! I'm kind of jealous of the new people who will be experiencing this series for the first time. Below is a pic of the book, which John Arcudi posted on social media.

It will include these babies down below :)

Here are some sweet images I screen grabbed, to show you just how gorgeous this book looks. I didn't want to spoil anything so I cropped it pretty tightly.

I hope y'all will give it a shot, please let me know what you think down in the comments! Even though I already know y'all will love it. I hope it inspires you artists and writers out there how it has inspired me. Congratulations Team Rumble, you win Best Series of all Time. Keep up the amazing work.
