It feels like it's been a while since I have updated the website (because it has!) but I promise I had a good reason. I was working on a secret project that was just revealed this past Saturday at my favorite comic book convention, Comicpalooza. What was this amazing secret project that kept me busy for the past couple months? It was my FIRST comic book! This comic book was written and created by Mark Schmidt and Vince Chuter, and it takes place right in my hometown of Houston, Texas.
"The Threat" is a story about a group of friends who must come together to save the world in a futuristic society in which companies have taken over. Mark and Vince decided to reboot the series, and I was lucky enough to work with them in this project as both the penciler and inker. Not only did I get to work with these two awesome guys, but I also got to collaborate with the amazing William Anderson, who is the colorist in the book. His colors added so much life to the artwork, and I could not be happier with how our styles meshed together to illustrate this story and finish this book that I am so incredibly proud of.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me in this journey to finish my first book, including all of my family and friends, specially my wife who was there to reassure me every time I doubted myself in the long process of finishing this book, and put up with the long hours of work. Special shout out to the cats for sleeping on top of the finished pages, and meowing in my face when I started to doze off! And of course, a special thanks to Mark, Vince and William for giving me a chance to work with them on this project.
If you are planning on going to the Dallas show this upcoming weekend, be sure to pick up your very own copy of "The Threat"!
